The Road Forks is a travel blog created by Akila and Patrick (plus their two dogs Chewy and Abby) to document their recipes and travel experiences from around the world. Both food lovers by birth, they have traveled to over 29 countries on 5 different continents after quitting their jobs in September 2009. The Road Forks is an intersection of how both their lives and their tastes have developed from their travels.
The blog focuses on food, but also provides general travel information. Guides can be found on adrenaline-fueled travel, how-to guides, arts and crafts, and planning a round-the-world trip. They make it easy, allowing visitors to search by destination, travel style, and by food. Though they have slowed down on their hectic travel schedules since becoming parents, their traveling continues with a new twist—the addition of a toddler. As new parents, they like to give tips, such as “21 Free Toddler Activities in Atlanta.”
Recipes they have invented and come across during their travels are easily accessible. Ranging from “Pittsburgh Steelers Potato Skins” to “Grandma Ople’s Apple Pie,” it isn’t hard to find a delicious recipe to try. With all the useful information they add to The Road Forks, it’s amazing they still have time to eat.
