English travel blogger Simon Heyes is the travel addict behind Simon’s Jam Jar, a blog concerned with the more adventurous side of travelling. Initially founded in 2006, it was only in April 2012 that Simon began to update the blog on a more regular basis with more personal tales about himself and his travels. Hoping to inspire others to travel by giving them a window into different countries and cultures, Simon has so far visited 44 countries around the world both for business and pleasure.
Filling the blog with adventures both ‘macro’ and ‘micro’, as Simon puts it, the blogs flits between extreme adventures, such as ‘Cycling The World’s Most Dangerous Road In Bolivia’, a fun and humorous account of an otherwise terrifying jaunt on the La Paz road, and more tame adventures. The listicle ‘9 Lake District Mountain Walks For Beginners’ is one such example of a ‘tamer’ article and yet it is no less inspiring with simple guides to nine of the most scenic walks in the Lake District all of which pass – as Simon handily points out – at least one pub!
